  • Can the TorkLift PowerArmor Locking Battery Box Be Mounted To An Existing Tray
  • The TorkLift PowerArmor Locking Battery Box part # TLA7708R is designed to be installed directly on top of the frame rails on an a-frame trailer. If you already have a tray welded to the frame where the battery box would mount this would need to be removed or modified to fit the new size battery box. In regards to removal, this can be done with a grinder but welding should not be required.

  • Can Breakaway Battery Box Be Mounted With Battery On Its Side on 2016 Haulmark Enclosed Trailer
  • If you are using a breakaway kit like the Hopkins Engager Trailer BreakAway Kit # 20099 or # 20400 that features a sealed battery in an enclosure then you can mount it sideways if that is a better mounting solution on your trailer. We often see trailers with their breakaway battery installed in this way. If your kit does not use a sealed battery or if it does not have a protective case for the battery you might want to check the manufacturer's instructions for any cautions about how that...

  • How to Connect Spare Battery to Trailer 7-Way
  • To connect an auxiliary battery, I recommend using 10 gauge wire, like # 10-2-1 (per foot) to connect the 12V power wire on your trailer side 7-way connector to a junction box like # 38656. From there, you can run more of the same wire from the positive side of the battery to the same post where you previously connected the 12V wire on the junction box. To connect to the posts, you can use 3/16 inch ring terminals # 44-5310A. If you don't already have a junction box, the 7-Way Molded Trailer...

  • Why A Modulite Converter Box Doesn't Drain a Vehicle's Battery
  • The Modulite box of part # 118617 only draws power from the battery if the turn, brake or tail lights are activated with a trailer connected. If you are not using one those functions the wiring harness is not getting power so it will not drain the vehicle's battery. Basically the modulite box gets a signal from the tail light circuit when one of these functions are activated, and then draws power from the battery to power the wiring harness connected to the trailer. If the signal never...

  • How To Charge Batteries To Run Aux Circuits in Truck Tool Box without Discharging Truck Battery
  • On the output post of your dual alternators you will need to run a thick gauge wire from there to the positive post of the batteries you plan on installing in the tool box of your truck. This will put a decent charge on those batteries while you are driving. To prevent the batteries from discharging your truck batteries you will also need to install the # PK5231201 isolator on this charge line. This will prevent the circuit from the battery of your truck to the battery in your tool box...

  • Fuse Box Location for Installation of Curt Relay Kit for Nissans
  • The box that has the fuse locations you will need to access is called the power distribution box, it is located behind the battery. Check out the video I attached to see what it looks like. It should be the first relay box behind the battery. I attached a picture of the box in relation to the battery that also has the fuse locations highlighted in yellow. • Why Must TorkLift HiddenPower Battery Box Install on Driver-Side Frame on 2010 Ford E-250
  • I spoke with my contact at TorkLift and confirmed that the TorkLift HiddenPower Under-Vehicle Battery Mount with Battery Box # TLA7729 needs to be mounted on the driver's side frame rail. Before installing the battery box you will want to adjust the route of the parking brake cable so the box does not interfere. The battery box cannot be mounted on the passenger side frame rail because of interferences such as the passenger side step/running boards under the side door.

  • Adding a Second Trailer Battery to Power Trailer Accessory Lights
  • While you can add a second battery to power lights, this is going to require a second, 12 volt auxiliary battery; this is the same concept you were thinking of but a breakaway system battery isn't going to have the power or amp hours needed for your lights. Doing this is fairly simple as you will just need to start by mounting a battery box to your trailer frame. Then to charge it, you can use a separate 12 volt charger such as the CTEK MULTI US 3300 12-Volt Universal Battery Charger with...

  • Can TorkLift PowerArmor Locking Battery Box Be Installed on Top of the Trailer Frame
  • There are no laws I am aware of that would prevent you from mounting the TorkLift PowerArmor Locking Battery Box on top of the trailer frame. It would not hurt to contact the local DMV or state highway patrol office to confirm. On a lot of trailers, the propane tanks are mounted up front and sometimes overhang the frame so I can't imagine that batteries contained in a secure steel or aluminum box would be any different.

  • Installation of TorkLift Battery Box TLA7708R on Travel Trailer with OEM Battery Tray
  • The TorkLift PowerArmor Locking Battery Box # TLA7708R does not require any pre-existing structure on the trailer since it includes mounting hardware. But if your travel trailer has such a feature included this may still be usable for an installation point. It just depends on whether or not it can accept the box's dimensions, which are 26-3/4 long x 8-3/16-inches wide. You may be able to mount the box on your existing tray, or possibly even convert that space to another storage purpose.
